Transtornos Mentais e Sua Relação com o Uso Contínuo de Substâncias Psicoativas: Uma Revisão Sistemática

Resumo:

Transtornos mentais são definidos como alterações no funcionamento da mente doindivíduo, prejudicando o desempenho familiar, social e pessoal. A relação entre o usode substâncias psicoativas e transtornos mentais tem se tornado uma questão relevante,uma vez que que possuem forte associação, juntamente ao uso excessivo dessassubstâncias. Nesse sentido, o presente trabalho objetivou associar o uso crônicode drogas lícitas e ilícitas ao desenvolvimento de transtornos mentais. Para isso,foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica com artigos publicados a partir de 2020 nasprincipais bases de dados científicos (PubMed, SciELO, Google Acadêmico, MedLine,NEJM e Lilacs), priorizando ensaios clínicos, estudos transversais e de coorte. Foramselecionados quatro artigos que compuseram a revisão sistemática. Os resultadosdemonstraram uma grande prevalência do sexo masculino nos estudos, com faixaetária que variou dos 20 aos 63 anos de idade, além da baixa escolaridade. Foiobservado que, entre as substâncias mais utilizadas, destacam-se o álcool, crack, tabacoe cannabis. Já, em relação às psicopatologias, houve grande prevalência de quadrosdepressivos e de ansiedade, seguidos de quadros de base de bipolaridade eesquizofrenia. Mental disorders are defined as changes in the functioning of an individual's mind,impairing family, social, and personal performance. The relationship between the use ofpsychoactive substances and mental disorders has become a relevant issue as theyhave a strong association with the excessive use of these substances. In this sense, thepresent work aimed to associate the chronic use of legal and illicit drugs with thedevelopment of mental disorders. To this end, a bibliographic review was carried out,with articles published from 2020 onwards in the main scientific databases (PubMed,Scielo, Google Scholar, MedLine, NEJM, and Lilacs), prioritizing clinical trials, and crosssectional and cohort studies. Therefore, 4 articles were selected to make up thesystematic review. The results demonstrated a high prevalence of males in the studies,with an age range ranging from 20 to 63 years of age, in addition to low education. It was observed that among the most used substances, alcohol, crack, tobacco andcannabis stand out. Regarding psychopathologies, there was a high prevalence ofdepressive and anxious conditions, followed by basic conditions of bipolarity andschizophrenia. Furthermore, there was a high risk of suicide in these users. Despite theextensive search, few articles were found that addressed the topic in the national literature,highlighting the great need to produce further studies.
