Resumo:

A postectomia consiste na remoção cirúrgica de parte ou de todo prepúcio e é um dos procedimentosmais comuns no mundo. Os médicos de grandes centros de estudos identificaram tópicos relevantes queindicam vários benefícios à saúde. Os métodos mais utilizados para a circuncisão masculina são com odispositivo plástico (Plastibell®), tanto para neonatos ou crianças mais velhas e a circuncisãoconvencional normalmente é realizada em crianças mais velhas. A técnica amplamente utilizada napostectomia é o dispositivo Plastibell®, a qual consiste em um anel plástico transparente com diferentestamanhos e alças. A pesquisa foi feita por meio de uma revisão de literatura em que foram incluídosestudos que comparavam a técnica de postectomia com Plastibell® com a técnica convencional decircuncisão. As buscas foram efetuadas nas bases de dados PUBMED (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation, U.S. National Library of Medicine), MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysisand RetrievalSystem Online), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) e LILACS (Literatura Latino – Americana edo Caribe em Ciências da Saúde). Circumcision, the surgical removal of part or all of the foreskin, is one of the most common proceduresworldwide. Physicians at major research centers have identified relevant topics that indicate severalhealth benefits. The most commonly used methods for male circumcision are the plastic device(Plastibell®) for both newborns and older children, and conventional circumcision is typically performedon older children. The widely used technique for circumcision is the Plastbell® device, which consists ofa transparent plastic ring with different sizes and handles. The research was conducted through aliterature review, including studies that compared the Plastibell® circumcision technique with theconventional circumcision technique. Searches were conducted in the databases PUBMED (NationalCenter for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine), MEDLINE (Medical LiteratureAnalysis and Retrieval System Online), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), and LILACS (LatinAmerican and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences).
