Deformidades Congênitas da Orelha Externa: Uma Revisão Sistemática de Literatura Sobre o Tratamento Não Cirúrgico no Recém-nascido

Resumo: O tratamento não cirúrgico de deformidades congênitas da orelha externa tem ganhado destaque devido ao seu avanço técnico, por minimizar riscos e trazer benefícios à qualidade de vida do paciente. Esse tratamento evita a necessidade de um procedimento invasivo futuro, diminuindo estigmas sociais desses pacientes. Para tanto, buscou-se investigar e avaliar, por meio de uma revisão sistemática de literatura, os diferentes tipos de moldagem auricular já utilizados pelos autores, além de verificar a efetividade de cada tratamento não cirúrgico. A busca foi realizada nas bases de dados PubMed, RBCP, science.gov e Pediatrics, utilizando os descritores: deformidades congênitas (congenital deformities), orelha externa (external ear), tratamento não cirúrgico (non-surgical treatment) e neonatal (neonatal). Foram incluídos na revisão 31 artigos nacionais e internacionais que demonstraram que, em geral, o tratamento não cirúrgico de deformidades congênitas da orelha externa é efetivo, podendo evitar a necessidade de uma cirurgia futura, reduzir custos e garantir menos riscos ao paciente. Resumo em Inglês: The non-surgical treatment of congenital external eardeformities has gained prominence due to technicaladvances, minimizing risks and bringing benefits to thepatient’s quality of life, avoiding the need for a futureinvasive procedure and reducing the patients’ social stigma.Therefore, we sought to investigate and evaluate, through asystematic literature review, the different types of ear moldingalready used by the authors, in addition to verifying theeffectiveness of each non-surgical treatment. The search wasperformed in the PubMed, RBCP, science.gov and Pediatricsdatabases, using the descriptors: congenital deformities,external ear, non-surgical treatment and neonatal. Thereview included 31 national and international articles thatdemonstrated that, in general, the non-surgical treatment ofcongenital external ear deformities is effective, avoiding theneed for future surgery, reducing costs and ensuring less riskto the patient.
